COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The Ohio prisons director says the state is having difficulty finding drugs needed for lethal injection.

Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections Director Gary Mohr tells the Northeast Ohio Media Group (https://bit.ly/1ILXXqN ) the state is having trouble finding someone willing to sell them the drugs.

In an interview with the media organization Wednesday, Mohr declined to say where the state is looking.

The prison system acquired an import license from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration late last year in its search for the drugs, even though bringing overseas drugs in for executions appears to be illegal.

No executions are set this year. The state hopes to resume putting inmates to death early next year, with 21 executions scheduled into 2019.
