SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Shots fired at an off-duty Airport Police officer who was helping a stranded motorist have authorities looking for a second suspect.

KUTV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1eJYGwB) the officer picked up a motorist who ran out of gas Wednesday night and drove him back to his vehicle in Magna, a few miles southwest of Salt Lake City. Another car pulled alongside them and shots were fired.

Utah State Bureau of Investigations Lt. Jared Garcia says the officer pursued the car at a safe distance and contacted police.

Officers arrived, and one suspect was taken into custody.
