DENVER (AP) - Smoke from hundreds of wildfires burning across western Canada has largely dissipated over Colorado.

The state air pollution control division says there are still some lingering areas of smoke over eastern Colorado Thursday but not enough to trigger another health warning.

Children, older adults and those with lung disease as well as people working out outdoors had been warned to limit their exposure to the smoke since it rolled into the state on Monday.

Division spokesman Christopher Dann says the smoke could return again in the coming days and weeks depending on weather patterns and the success in fighting the fires.
