ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - A weekend auction got rid of hundreds of items from the Rapides Parish Coliseum and added $18,000 to its renovation fund.

The Town Talk (https://townta.lk/1AGozay ) reports that everything available sold, including appliances and furniture, a white Ford Ranger and 52,000 square feet of flooring.

The Coliseum is undergoing a $22.9 million renovation.

The auction started at 10 a.m. Saturday and everything was sold by noon.

Police Juror Bubba Moreau, a licensed auctioneer, donated his time.

Some couches went for several hundred dollars, a set of three beer taps went for $320. Oak flooring went for 85 cents a square foot, or $4,420.

Police Jury staff member Vickie Sergent says the profit was more than expected.
