EDINBURG, Texas (AP) - Border Patrol officials in far South Texas say more than 5,500 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $4.5 million have been confiscated over the weekend.

The largest seizure involved more than 3,500 pounds of pot buried in 150 bundles and concealed in a semi-trailer carrying lettuce. The marijuana was detected by a drug detection dog during an inspection by authorities from the Falfurrias patrol station.

The agency said Monday the driver has been arrested and his truck seized along with the marijuana.
