TWO RIVERS, Wis. (AP) - A smokestack that has towered over a northeastern Wisconsin city for more than 100 years has been demolished.

A large crowd gathered in Two Rivers on Sunday to watch the Hamilton Manufacturing Company smokestack get taken down by explosives. It was the last part left after the facility closed in 2013. It has been under demolition since June 2014.

HTR Media (https://htrne.ws/1GQb3T0 ) reports people came from across Wisconsin to watch the smokestack come down, and local businesses held block parties.

No decisions have been made regarding the 12-acre site’s future. City Manager Greg Buckley says Two Rivers wants to work with the site’s current owner to redevelop it.
