CONWAY, S.C. (AP) - Conway is working to spruce up its image to get some of the hundreds of thousands of motorists who pass through each year on their way to the beach to stop and visit.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports (https://bit.ly/1FXW48I) city council members have agreed to bury more power lines in the downtown area.

Conway is located about a dozen miles from Myrtle Beach, and most motorists just drive through on U.S. 501 heading to the shore.

Conway has been working for a decade to put power lines underground.

City administrator Bill Graham says that the latest project to bury lines along Fourth Avenue will create a more inviting front door for visitors to the town. The town later plans to bury the lines along busy U.S. 501.
