BREMEN, Ala. (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies in Cullman County have arrested a man accused of shooting his neighbor.

Authorities tell local media that 70-year-old Jack Harold Wilson was arrested Sunday evening and faces a charge of attempted murder in the shooting of 38-year-old Johnny Bentley.

It was not immediately clear whether Wilson had a lawyer who could comment on the charges.

Investigators say Wilson shot Bentley in the upper torso following a dispute over property lines. The shooting happened around noon Sunday and authorities had asked for the public’s help finding Wilson.

Sheriff Matt Gentry says community members tipped authorities off to Wilson’s location at a home in the Trimble community.

Wilson is also charged with first-degree assault and first-degree possession of marijuana.
