DEDHAM, Mass. (AP) - A former Massachusetts man’s arraignment in the 1981 slaying of his neighbor has been delayed.

The Norfolk district attorney’s office says 57-year-old Keith Butler is expected to be arraigned Tuesday on a single count of murder stemming from the death of Francis X. Hussey.

The Patriot Ledger of Quincy reports Butler appeared briefly before a judge, where prosecutors said an attorney who represented Butler before wasn’t available Monday.

Butler, who now lives in Palm Harbor, Florida, was twice tried for murder in Hussey’s death. Both trials ended in hung juries.

The 41-year-old Hussey was found beaten to death in the kitchen of his Braintree home. Hussey and Butler lived two doors apart and knew each other.

Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey says Butler was indicted last month based on old evidence that underwent modern forensic testing.
