BOLIVIA, N.C. (AP) - A Fort Bragg unit is training in Brunswick County to prepare for future deployments overseas.

The StarNews of Wilmington reported (https://bit.ly/1FOFdnE) that a civil affairs company from Fort Bragg is conducting the exercises in Brunswick County’s offices beginning Monday.

Soldiers from the 83rd Civil Affairs Battalion C Company have been deployed to Afghanistan, Jordan, Iran and Bahrain since 2012.

Maj. Shaun Reynolds says the Brunswick offices provide realistic urban and rural areas to practice tactics, techniques and procedures that the soldiers would perform in an overseas deployment.

County manager Ann Hardy sys the unit conducted similar training in Brunswick County last year.

The exercise is expected to last all week.
