PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) - Authorities say the 21-year-old Oregon man arrested for his infant daughter’s death threw her on the floor, causing head injuries.

The East Oregonian of Pendleton reports (https://bit.ly/1KHU2fZ ) that 21-year-old Travis Martin of Irrigon was arrested Friday after his 10-month-old daughter became unresponsive and later died.

Martin faces charges that include manslaughter and assault. He is in Umatilla County Jail on $137,500 bond.

Morrow County District Attorney Justin Nelson says Martin injured his daughter Savannah at some point on Wednesday night. Family members told police the girl was awake the next morning but seemed sick.

While the girl’s mother was running errands in Pendleton, Savannah became unresponsive in the back seat of the car and the mother called for help.

Savannah died Thursday afternoon at the Children’s Hospital in Spokane.
