WARSAW, N.Y. (AP) - A flood watch for portions of western New York has been canceled.

The National Weather Service says that although steady rain has fallen across the watch area, rainfall rates and dry soil conditions have limited runoff.

Forecasters say there may be minor puddling of water on roadways and lowlands Monday, but widespread flooding is not expected in Wayne, Wyoming, Livingston, and Ontario counties, including the cities of Newark, Warsaw, Geneseo and Canandaigua.

The National Weather Service at Buffalo had issued a flash flood watch from Sunday evening through Monday morning as an area of moderate to heavy rainfall crossed western and central New York.

The Wyoming County village of Warsaw suffered flash flooding Saturday. Several village streets were closed after more than a foot of water left cars stranded.
