PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The cost of a gallon of gas in Rhode Island is holding steady.

AAA Northeast says its weekly survey found self-serve, regular selling for an average of $2.69 per gallon, the same as last week.

The in-state price is 6 cents lower than the national per-gallon average, but 9 cents higher than the local price a month ago. The cost is $1.01 lower than the price in Rhode Island a year ago.

AAA found self-serve, regular selling for as low as $2.52 per gallon and as high as $2.89.
