NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (AP) - A western Massachusetts man faces life in prison after he was convicted of raping a child.

A Hampshire Superior Court jury found Leo Fugler III, of Granby, guilty last week on eight of 11 charges, including six counts of forcible rape of a child. The 55-year-old was acquitted on two counts of forcible child rape.

The Daily Hampshire Gazette (https://bit.ly/1FkmMUB) reports Fugler will be held at the Hampshire County Jail until his sentencing Friday.

He knew all the children.

Fugler’s attorney argued the adults fabricated stories against him because they were angry with him for various reasons, including jealousy, disagreements over money and the fact the man was not invited to a dinner.
