WASHINGTON (AP) - Police say one person is dead after a crash on Suitland Parkway in southeast Washington and they’re looking for a hit-and-run driver.

The Metropolitan Police Department says the crash happened Thursday around 11:45 p.m. when the driver of a 1999 Volvo traveling on Suitland Parkway hit a 2006 Chrysler 300 at the intersection of Firth Sterling Avenue. Police say the driver of the Volvo fled. A passenger in the Volvo attempted to flee but was stopped and arrested after he was found with a gun A second passenger was taken to a hospital, but police did not give that person’s condition.

Police say the driver and three passengers in the Chrysler were taken to hospitals. One woman identified as 43-year-old Octavia Tillman of southeast Washington died. An investigation is ongoing.
