TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - Police in Tacoma, Washington, have identified a missing scuba diver as a Portland, Oregon, woman.

KPTV reports that police say the diver who has been the object of a two-day search is 50-year-old Candy Sneed. Officials said Friday they have suspended search efforts.

Sneed disappeared Wednesday afternoon during a sport scuba dive at a Tacoma pier. KPTV says the dive was the woman’s first “open water dive” after becoming certified. She reportedly was with a group of other divers from Portland.
