GREENWOOD, Del. (AP) - The Delaware State Police says the driver of a water tanker will be fine after he reportedly swerved to avoid a deer and his tanker overturned.

The Delaware State Police says the driver was wearing his seatbelt and has non-life-threatening injuries after the accident Friday in Greenwood. He was treated and released from a hospital after the accident.

The Delaware State Police say the driver was operating the vehicle along Fawn Road around 10:30 a.m. when the deer reportedly crossed in front of the vehicle and the driver swerved. The tanker, which was fully loaded, overturned in a field. Fawn Road was closed for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated and the truck emptied and brought into an upright position.
