METAIRIE, La. (AP) - Louisiana authorities say 23-year-old man wanted in connection with the death of Jasilas Wright, whose body was found June 10 on Interstate 10 in Metairie, has been arrested.

Col. John Fortunato of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office says Adam Littleton turned himself in Saturday to authorities in Shreveport.

State police and deputies accuse Littleton of kidnapping Wright, his girlfriend, from New Orleans and attempting to take her to Dallas, where they first met. While they were driving on I-10, police say Wright jumped out of the car. They say Littleton didn’t stop. Police had first said Littleton was headed back to Texas.

State police say Wright’s body was hit by several cars.

Littleton faces a second-degree murder charge.
