MAYBEE, Mich. (AP) - A funeral has been held in a southeastern Michigan community for a 22-year-old woman whose skeletal remains were found in April.

The Monroe News reports that friends and family attended Chelsea Bruck’s funeral mass Saturday in Maybee, about 35 miles southwest of Detroit.

Bruck disappeared in October after attending a Halloween party in Newport. Her body was found at a home construction site in Monroe County’s Ash Township. Bruck’s disappearance prompted searches in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.

An official cause of death has not been released.

Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone says the investigation into Bruck’s death is “still very active.”
