MEETEETSE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has stocked 10,000 tiger trout in Lower Sunshine Reservoir, southwest of Meeteetse.

Tiger trout are a sterile hybrid of brook trout and brown trout. They were stocked at 5.5-inches and will be catchable sized in a few months.

Bart Burningham is superintendent of the Ten Sleep Fish Hatchery. He brought the fish to Lower Sunshine from the Ten Sleep Fish hatchery where they were hatched and reared.

Burningham says these are the first tiger trout stocked anywhere in the Bighorn Basin. He says he and others at the game department are excited about the unique sport fishing opportunity the will provide local anglers.
