DETROIT (AP) - A man has been charged in the fatal shooting and carjacking of a 28-year-old Detroit father waiting with his two young sons in the drive-thru of a fast-food restaurant.

Dezmen Faqua of Westland was arraigned via video Saturday on first-degree murder, assault with intent to murder, armed robbery, carjacking and gun charges.

Christopher Reed was shot multiple times June 6 at a Wendy’s in northwest Detroit. Reed’s car was taken after the shooting.

The slaying remains under investigation.

The 24-year-old Faqua is being held in the Wayne County Jail. He does not yet have a lawyer.
