CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - A southern New Jersey man has been convicted of kidnapping and robbing a woman who was waiting for a bus.

Camden County prosecutors say 39-year-old Michael Winters, of Camden, faces a life term when he’s sentenced Aug. 7.

The early morning abduction occurred in Camden in November 2012.

Prosecutors say Winters and an accomplice, 31-year-old Matilda Marshall, approached the then 32-year-old victim and pushed her into a vehicle. They drove her to a nearby underpass and demanded her phone, money and other valuables.

The victim fled the vehicle when her captors tried to use her bank card to get cash at an ATM. Winters and Marshall were both arrested the next day.

Marshall pleaded guilty in January 2014 to receiving stolen property and is now serving a four-year prison sentence.
