COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - The New York Army National Guard says three of its helicopters will be conducting flights in the Cooperstown area as part of a training exercise.

National Guard officials say the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters based at Albany International Airport will conduct training Saturday evening with 30 members of a Utica-based Army Reserve unit.

The helicopters will be landing next to Basset Medical Center at around 6 p.m. to train soldiers on the proper way to board the aircraft Afterward the helicopters will ferry the Reservists to a landing zone on the east side of Otsego Lake.

The helicopter portion of the training is expected to be finished by 8 to 10 p.m.

The helicopters are flown by Co. A of the 3rd Battalion, 142nd Aviation Regiment, based in Latham.
