BOONEVILLE, Miss. (AP) - A Prentiss County man will serve 15 years in prison after a jury convicted him of manslaughter.

According to multiple media reports, 20-year-old Nathaniel Marc Tyra was convicted this week in circuit court of intentionally hitting Justin Shaw with a vehicle in Baldwyn on July 5, 2014.

Authorities say Tyra and Shaw had been in an altercation earlier that night, but Shaw had left. Authorities say Tyra got into his mother’s vehicle and hit Shaw on a grassy embankment behind a Fred’s Super Dollar.

Baldwyn police found Shaw and he was transported to the North Mississippi Medical Center. Shaw died at the North Mississippi Medical Center on July 17, 2014, from complications associated with those injuries.
