FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) - The University of Mary Washington has chosen national executive search firm Baker and Associates to help find its next president.

The Free Lance-Start reports (https://bit.ly/1KNPxjc ) the search will be led by Senior Vice President Martin Baker.

Baker and Associates has conducted more than 500 searches at colleges and universities across the nation.

The firm’s previous presidential and chancellor searches have included the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Appalachian State University and Western Carolina University. In Virginia, the firm has conducted searches at Longwood University, James Madison University, the University of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University and Christopher Newport University.

Board of visitors Rector Holly Cuellar, who chairs the presidential search committee, says Baker and Associates’ experience with liberal arts education sets it apart from the other companies interviewed.
