WASHINGTON (AP) - A woman killed in a hit-and-run crash is part of a family that last year lost four members in a car wreck.

WUSA-TV reports (https://on.wusa9.com/1JPJYQy ) that eight months before Octavia Tillman was killed four of her cousins died in a car crash.

Tillman’s cousins, including a one-year-old and a 13-year-old, were driving back from Home Depot in Oxon Hill when they were struck by a speeding Mercedes.

Tillman was driving home from work at around 11:45 p.m. on Thursday when she was struck by a speeding Volvo on Suitland Parkway at the intersection of Firth Sterling Avenue. Police say the driver of the Volvo fled. A passenger in the Volvo attempted to flee but was stopped and arrested after he was found with a gun.
