LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) - One Marathon man is saving animals’ lives by flying them to new homes.

The Lakeland Ledger (https://bit.ly/1IUhqqn ) reports that Jeff Bennett has transported about 3,800 animals in the last 10 years as a volunteer for Pilots n Paws.

The program relocates animals at risk of being euthanized in crowded shelters. Bennett shared his story during a recent event at Lakeland’s Florida Air Museum.
