BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) - The National Park Service says a swimmer apparently drowned at Lake Mead.

Rangers say they received a call early Sunday afternoon about a man who appeared to be drowning near Boulder Beach in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

They responded but efforts to revive him failed. He was not wearing a life jacket.

Boulder Beach is located on the Nevada side of the lake near Boulder City.

The death is under investigation.

The man’s name and hometown were not immediately released.
