NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a 39-year-old man is dead after he lost control of his car and crashed it into a residential building in Queens.

The accident happened shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday on Hook Creek Boulevard in Laurelton.

Police say Benjamin Louis, of Queens, was driving southbound when he lost control of his car.

They say the car crashed through a fence and hit the concrete steps of a residential building.

Louis was pronounced dead at the scene.
