NAPLES, Fla. (AP) - A volunteer program is connecting pilots with kids who dream of one day piloting their own planes.

The Naples Daily News (https://bit.ly/1KQecUj ) reports that 10 Collier County public school students recently gathered at the Naples Municipal Airport for the Young Eagles program.

The program is part of the national Experimental Aircraft Association and it gives kids a chance to take free flights with volunteer pilots.

One 18-year-old pilot joined the program when he was 8. He now has his pilot’s license and plans to study engineering at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona beach. He says the program put him the path to accomplishing his dreams.
