BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A nominating committee is meeting in the state Capitol on Monday to name finalists for an at-large position on the North Dakota Wheat Commission board.

The committee will submit three names to the governor, who will eventually make an appointment.

The farmer-funded Wheat Commission works to support wheat research, promotion and market growth. It’s governed by a board that oversees policy and programs as well as the commission’s budget.

Six members of the board are determined through a process that involves local producer elections. The governor appoints the seventh member.
