PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Lifeguards made 84 rescues due to rough surf along Pensacola Beach over the weekend.

The Pensacola News Journal (https://on.pnj.com/1Iflo7p ) reports two swimmers rescued Sunday were taken to hospitals for treatment, including a visitor from Louisiana who was flown to Pensacola Baptist Hospital. Conditions were not available for either swimmer.

Red flags were flying at the beach on Sunday, warning swimmers of the rough conditions in the Gulf of Mexico. Officials say hazardous conditions are expected to persist through at least Tuesday night.
