ARVADA, Colo. (AP) - Arvada police are asking for the public’s help finding the driver who hit and killed a 61-year-old man and then fled the scene.

The victim, Lee Barry Chandler, was walking across Sheridan Boulevard near U.S. Highway 36 when he was struck just before 9 p.m. Sunday. He died at the scene.

Witnesses say the driver did not slow down after hitting Chandler.

Investigators are looking for a dark-colored sedan, possibly an older Honda with driver’s side damage and a missing driver’s side view mirror. They also are asking anyone who does body work to call if someone brings in a vehicle that needs repair matching the description of the suspected vehicle.
