GOSHEN, Ore. (AP) - Oregon State Police say a four-vehicle crash on Highway 58 southeast of Eugene sent a dozen people to the hospital.

Sgt. Mike Brewster says a car waiting to turn into a driveway Sunday night was struck from behind by a pickup. The collision sent the car into an oncoming lane, where it collided with two other vehicles.

Police said Monday that a child with life-threatening injuries was taken to OHSU hospital in Portland, and the other 11 injured were taken to Springfield.

The Register-Guard newspaper of Eugene reports that the stretch of Highway 58 between Goshen and Dexter is notorious for car accidents.
