COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Dangerous heat is expected in the inland areas of eastern South Carolina.

The National Weather Service has issued heat advisories from midday until early evening Monday. The advisory is in effect in 16 counties in the eastern part of the state.

Heat index reading were expected to range from about 105 to 107.

Forecasters warn of dangerous conditions outside from Hilton Head Island to North Myrtle Beach including inland areas near the coast.
