NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A man accused of shooting his stepson has been arrested after a standoff with police in North Little Rock.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1JSLBNj ) reports a 34-year-old man was arrested after a two-hour standoff Saturday on suspicion of shooting his stepson in the leg. He surrendered to police.

According to a police report, officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim and found the man’s stepson, who had been shot in his right leg.

The report says the stepson told police that his stepfather had shot him and fired a round at his head that nearly hit him.

The suspect faces charges of first-degree battery, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of firearms by certain persons. Bail has not been set.
