BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Authorities say a man wanted in a traffic death of a 20-year-old LSU student nearly a year ago was arrested Monday in Georgia.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1FXrLeZ ) that Janneh Trench, 36, of Vacherie, was captured by U.S. Marshals and the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia on Monday morning.

Trench faces counts of negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, reckless operation, obstruction of justice and operating a vehicle under suspension in the June 20, 2014, death of 20-year-old Eric Fabre.

Police say Fabre was riding his motorized scooter when a vehicle rear-ended the scooter. Fabre died and the driver fled.

Cpl. Don Coppola, a Baton Rouge police spokesman, says Trench is awaiting extradition to Louisiana.
