CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - Police say a man whose car was being stolen in Chandler managed to grab the suspect through a window and tried to hold on as the suspect rolled away in the vehicle.

The Chandler Police Department says the theft occurred early Monday as the vehicle’s owner left his car running and unlocked as he filled up jugs of water at a business.

Officers are looking for the suspect.

As the suspect drove away, the owner grabbed him and tried to hold on, but the car window broke, causing him to immediately fall to the asphalt.

The victim suffered minor injuries that didn’t require medical attention.
