LACONIA, N.H. (AP) - Transportation officials are planning a public meeting to address rehabilitation of a “red list” bridge that carries U.S. Route 3 over the New Hampshire Railroad by Weirs Beach in Laconia.

The project is in the vicinity of wetlands and historic properties.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the Laconia City Hall.

The Transportation Department briefed City Council members in May on the $1.5 million project, planned for 2019.

The bridge is on the northern side of the Weirs Channel bridge and was built in the 1930s.
