STOYSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - State police were trying to determine why a car left a western Pennsylvania highway and struck a tree, killing one person and injuring the driver and two other passengers.

Troopers from Somerset say the dead person is Cody Allen Sarver, of Boswell, though they did not immediately release his name Monday.

The crash happened about 11:30 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Route 30 in Quemahoning (kay-mah-HOH’-ning) Township in Somerset County.

Police say the driver, Ryan Joseph Stephens, and two juveniles - none of whose ages were released - were taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown. Their conditions were not immediately available Monday.
