SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A house fire has led to the discovery of a marijuana growing operation in Sacramento.

KXTV-TV reports (https://on.news10.net/1efHYp7 ) that two people were arrested following the discovery. They were both charged with felony reckless burning of an occupied structure and misdemeanor theft of power. Both were booked into the Main Jail.

Sacramento Fire spokesman Roberto Padilla says firefighters were called around 10:30 a.m. Sunday on reports of heavy smoke coming from a single family home. As firefighters knocked the blaze down, they found marijuana growing in the back of the house.

Padilla says the cause of the fire is under investigation. No other houses were damaged and no one was hurt.
