BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A coroner says a woman who died after a car accident on the way to the hospital actually died of stab wounds and her death in being considered a homicide.
The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1FjgUuu ) reports early Sunday morning, 36-year-old Tameka Jacobs was stabbed in the groin during a fight and was being driven to a hospital when she was involved in a wreck. Authorities say the SUV she was a passenger in went off the road and flipped. Jacobs was thrown from the vehicle and landed underneath it.
The coroner says the injuries Jacobs sustained in the wreck wouldn’t have caused her death after an autopsy was performed Monday.
Baton Rouge police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely says the driver was taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
