ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York authorities say a Queens man has admitted collecting his father’s state pension and Social Security deposits while leaving his body in the Nassau County morgue for more than a year.

The comptroller’s office says 49-year-old Christopher Bunn, who pleaded guilty to grand larceny in October, faces sentencing Tuesday in state court and has already spent six months in federal prison.

According to authorities, James Bunn was designated beneficiary and collecting retirement benefits that weren’t transferable after his death on Feb. 24, 2010.

However, electronically deposited pension payments of $7,542 and Social Security payments of $17,790 were made through April 2011, and officials say Christopher Bunn withdrew money from the account.
