HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Marshall University’s interim president will be in Washington, D.C., to update West Virginia’s congressional delegation on the school’s initiatives.

Gary G. White will deliver the State of the University address Tuesday evening at the Newseum. He says he is particularly looking forward to talking to policymakers about the university’s strategic planning process, which has resulted in projected budget savings of $3.4 million for the coming fiscal year.

Marshall alumni and supporters from the D.C. area also are expected to be in the audience.

White has been interim president since Dec. 29, when he was appointed after the death of President Stephen J. Kopp.
