DETROIT (AP) - Plans are in the works for the 33rd Metro Detroit Youth Day.
The event takes place July 15. More than 34,000 children, 1,600 volunteers and 350 community partners are expected at Belle Isle’s athletic fields.
The aim is to promote education, healthy living, anti-bullying and entrepreneurship through sports clinics, education stations, entertainment and workshops.
Participants also will have a chance to explore College Row, where they can meet representatives of Michigan universities and colleges.
Metro Detroit Youth Day is free those 8 to 15 years old. Registration details are posted online.
