SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (AP) - State agencies and officials from two future casinos in upstate New York are holding a problem gambling awareness event at Schenectady Community College.

The New York Lottery announced the event on Monday. It will include representatives from the state’s Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, the state Gaming Commission, the state Council on Problem Gambling and officials from the future Rivers Casino in Schenectady and Lago Casino in Tyre, Seneca County.

Rush Street Gaming of Chicago was recommended for a casino license by the state Gaming Facility Location Board and is expected to receive the license by the end of the year to build a casino along the Mohawk River in Schenectady.

The free event will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Schenectady County Community College’s Elston Hall.
