PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A man has been ordered to stand trial in the stabbing death of a woman found buried in a shallow grave behind an apartment building in northeast Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Inquirer (https://bit.ly/1GLCg92 ) reports that a municipal judge Tuesday held 30-year-old Jeffrey Bowen for trial in the death of 39-year-old Kelly Hepfl.

Authorities said the victim’s body was found wrapped in plastic and buried in the city’s Frankford section in March. An autopsy concluded that she had been stabbed.

A neighbor testified during Tuesday’s preliminary hearing that she heard a commotion and a woman call for help.

The resident manager said Bowen asked to borrow a shovel and he later “noticed toes sticking out from the dirt.”

Bowen faces charges including murder, robbery, theft, and abuse of a corpse.
