CULPEPER, Va. (AP) - The chief medical examiner’s office says the death of a man following a scuffle with Culpeper police was accidental.

Nancy Bull, district administrator of the Manassas office, says several factors contributed to 30-year-old Dominick R. Wise’s death.

Bull tells the Culpeper Star-Exponent (https://bit.ly/1FXZBAH ) that the cause of death was acute stress-induced cardiac arrhythmia due to PCP use, exertion and restraint used by officers.

Police have said an officer saw Wise on March 30 in the middle of the street walking in circles, acting erratically.

Police say officers used stun guns after Wise swung and kicked at them. After his arrest, police say Wise became unresponsive. He died at a hospital.

Culpeper County Commonwealth’s Attorney Megan Frederick says she will review the autopsy and the findings of a state police investigation.
