VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) - Washington state Corrections Department officials say two minimum security inmates from the Larch Corrections Center escaped from a work crew in southwest Washington. One was recaptured within hours.

Prison spokeswoman Danette Gadberry said 33-year-old Donald William McLain and 44-year-old Randall Jacob Marlow were doing landscaping work with an inmate crew in the small community of Hockinson near Vancouver. A crew supervisor noticed they were missing Tuesday afternoon.

The Corrections Department said late Tuesday night that McLain had been recaptured.

McLain is serving time for forgery, theft and drug violations. Marlow is serving time for property crimes.
