NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - A joint-operation initiative by the Delaware State Police and New Castle County Police targeting prostitution has led to 27 people being arrested.

The suspects were arrested in a two-day raid from June 11 to 12 targeting areas along Routes 9 and 13. Authorities say the areas were targeted in response to complaints of prostitution and other quality-of-life complaints. Most of the charges are for prostitution, criminal solicitation, public nuisance, breach of release, loitering, possession of drug paraphernalia and patronizing a prostitute.

One person, 27-year-old Ashley Herrera, was arrested on both days, for prostitution and criminal solicitation on June 11 and breach of release on June 12.
